Vic: Thieves steal $40,000 worth of Chanel handbags

Thieves have stolen 20 handbags worth a total of 40-thousand dollars from a shop in Melbourne.

Police say the Chanel handbags were taken from a Chanel shop on Collins Street about
5.15 (AEST) this morning.

A police spokesman says the window of the store was smashed with an object.

Senior Constable MICHAEL HENRY says some bags were made of leather and others were fabric.
