NSW: Crean urges community to band together to support victims

Opposition leader SIMON CREAN is urging Australians to rally behind families devastated
by the bushfires ravaging New South Wales.

Mr CREAN is touring the Blue Mountains near Sydney -- where he says the unforgiving
nature of the blazes have hit home.

He's told Sky News that fire victims need to be made aware that services are available
to help them through their ordeal.

Mr CREAN says in the longer term, people will need financial support including government
funds -- as well as their insurance payouts.
